we checked out AJ Hackett's while we were in Australia and got to bungee jump in the rainforest. the view of Cairns from that height was incredible! i jumped 4 times. check out this video from my 2nd jump. it was such an amazing sensation second only to freefall parachuting...

first concert
last year we saw Dave Matthews Band @ Cricket Wireless when i was pregnant and didn't know it yet. this year we wanted to take Saraya. it's the perfect venue because it's outdoors and not too crowded or loud. she loved having dave sing lullabies just for her and she was excited to show off her rasta outfit...

9 baby essentials
this list is definitely expected to grow/change, but for now these are 9 things i'm most glad we have:
1. jumperoo (it's amazing how much she loves this)
2. breast pump (just makes things a lot easier)
3. travel changing pad (absolutely necessary)
4. pacifier with clip (especially because picking up and sanitizing a pacifier that falls in dog hair 20x a day is NOT fun)
5. giant swaddling blankets (perfect for helping her feel safe and warm; she falls right to sleep)
6. glider (relaxing for the rocker and the rockee)
7. teddy bear with soothing sounds (the heartbeat really soothes her)
8. baby bjorn (nice to be hands free!)
9. bottle drying rack (bottles have so many little pieces!)

jungle jumperoo
we got this jumper for Saraya and she LOVES it! she'll sit in it and stare at the parrot and frog hanging above her head. she's just recently figured out that her moving around makes the music and jungle animal noises go. now she just needs to figure out that she can shake and rattle all of the pieces around her...

everybody poops, even penguins
Greg Stones has some pretty outrageous artwork. his "zombies hate" series is particularly funky. but i like the pooping penguins.

yummy colors
check out these amazing edible crayons by Luxirare. they sound delicious and look really rich in color.
they don't seem too easy to make yourself but maybe it would be fun just trying?! this food blog has some other very cool topics too.

earrings
i have no urge to gauge my ears (stretching the piercings) but i really like some of the earrings in that style. so i was pleasantly surprised to find earrings that look like they're for gauged ears, but are really for normal piercings. Tribal Style is a shop on Etsy that has made it possible to get the look without the committment. here are some of my faves...

sadie james photography
i always enjoy looking at professional photographers' websites for ideas, inspiration and just for fun. it adds a special touch when i actually know the people in their photos. sadie james does some wonderful work, particularly with her newborn photography but i am also a fan of this session she had with my good friend jimmy and his family. jimmy is an old college classmate. i had the pleasure of meeting his awesome wife nancy and their incredibly cute daughter katelyn when they stopped in san diego for a little vacation. aren't these great?

mila's daydreams
first off, i apologize for the unexpected hiatus. Justin returned from the Alaskan frontier and we've been adapting to life with the baby again. also, my brand new camera started malfunctioning and i had to find a spare moment to take it to the service center. i will be without it for 2 weeks! of course this happens just as i get a new lens and flash to play with. i am trying to tell myself that it's a good excuse to whip out the old camera and keep it in shape but there will still be a slight lag in pictures on here due to compatability issues between the old camera and new laptop. *sigh* technology...
anyhow, the real subject of today's blog is someone else's blog. it is called Mila's Daydreams and it is truly one of the coolest little blogs i've ever seen. it's such a simple idea, so simply yet beautifully executed. mom Adele decided to create little scenes with her napping newborn that are so fun and clever! check out some of my favorites.
