the sneak peek |
this was a true naptime craft. i saw a tutorial for this sometime ago and put it on my "to make" list. i don't know what took me so long to get around to it because it was really that fast and easy! the original tutorial was a gift for a dad from his family. mom added the letters and her two littles went crazy with the paint. i decided to do one by myself while pandi napped but i will definitely be doing this again with her. she's going to love it!
all i did was buy a giant canvas (you can obviously get any size you want/need), some vinyl self-sticking letters ($3 at wal-mart), and i already had a bunch of acrylic paints and paintbrushes. i used a lyric from the song Home, by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and then just painted away. i let it dry and then took the stickers off. tada! actually, i may have gotten a little carried away with the painting away because my letters shifted a bit but i still think it turned out well. either way it was very fun and i'm looking forward to making more.
